Robin McKoy, 53, is accused of attacking another woman with a hammer.

A Harwood woman faces criminal charges for reportedly attacking another woman with a hammer.

According to Baltimore police, at 10:12 a.m. on April 3 in the 400 block of E. 25th Street, 53-year-old Robin McKoy allegedly attacked a woman walking in the area with a hammer.

Sgt. Eric Kowalcyk, a police spokesman, said the woman who reported being attacked told police she had just gotten off a bus, and was walking west when she was attacked without reason.

He said the woman was struck with the hammer on the head and arms, but refused medical treatment at the scene.

McKoy, of the 300 block of E. 25th Street, faces charges of assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, reckless endangerment and using a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, according to electronic court records.

McKoy has been charged with crimes in the past, and was accused of assault in 2007 and 1998 but charges were dropped by Baltimore State’s Attorney’s office both times.

Court records indicate she is still being held at the Baltimore City Detention Center, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. on May 2 in Baltimore District Court, 5800 Wabash Ave.
