Baltimore City police are raising their alert level following Monday afternoon's attack near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
"There are no credible threats," Police Commissioner Anthony Batts said during a press conference Monday, as reported by WJZ. However, in a Tweet, the department urged residents who see something suspicious to call police at 1-800-492-TIPS.
Around 3 p.m., two explosions rocked the popular Boston tradition, killing three and injuring dozens more, according to The Boston Globe.
Batts said to expect a "heightened sense of awareness" at large gatherings in Baltimore, including Tuesday evening's Orioles game, WJZ reports.
The commissioner said riders on Baltimore's rail and bus lines can expect to see hour-by-hour security checks. Patrols will include SWAT officers and Maryland Transit Administration police, WJZ reports.
Mike Gimbel, a local runner who had to pull out of this year's race, told Patch, "You couldn't pick a worse place at a worse time" for the attack.
