If you're curious about BGE's new Smart Meters, then come to the Cockeysville Branch Library tonight for a special Q&A session with a BGE representative.
The meeting is being hosted and moderated by the Greater Timonium Community Council. The meeting, which starts promptly at 7 p.m., is open to all Baltimore County residents who want to learn more about Smart Meter installation.
If you cannot make the meeting tonight, pose a question in the comments section below and Patch will make sure it gets asked at the meeting.
BGE officials have contended that installing Smart Meters drastically improves the communication between homes without power and the linemen tasked with turning it back on.
Skeptics, however, believe the installation is dangerous and could lead to a steeper rate hike.
Southwest Baltimore County would start receiving Smart Meters in January, according to BGE's plan.
If after the meeting you remain unconvinced of Smart Meter merits, simply opt out of the program.
