Susannah Siger and her wife Amanda Pellerin were inspired to open a new café in part because of all of the food they’ve discovered in their travels.
In fact one of the offerings at Choux, l’hot dog, was discovered when the pair spotted it at an eatery in Paris’ museum district.
"Look there’s a hot dog!" Siger remembered exclaiming.
And on Friday they will celebrate the official opening of the café, located at 832 W. 36th St., which is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Choux offers a wide variety of goods ranging from savory teas and baked goods to beef jerky.
"We’re definitely not a conventional coffee and sandwich shop," Siger said.
