Funeral services for Officer Forrest Taylor will be held at The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Wyndhurst on Friday, and could cause traffic delays, according to police.
The Baltimore Police Department issued a traffic advisory to motorists to expect delays along Charles Street, which starting at 9 a.m., will be closed between Northern Parkway and Cold Spring Lane.
Starting about 12:30 p.m. the procession will leave the church, located at 5200 N. Charles St., and will proceed up Charles Street; to Northern Parkway; to northbound Interstate 83; westbound Interstate 695; then to southbound Interstate 97 on its way to Annapolis.
Taylor died earlier this week, after he was injured when his vehicle was struck trying to drive through an intersection in the 600 block Guilford Avenue in February. He had activated his siren and emergency light, but was struck by an SUV that had the green light, neither Taylor or the driver of the SUV was determined to be at fault, according to The Baltimore Sun.
