A 16-year-old Baltimore boy was arrested following a Towson pursuit that left a Baltimore County police officer injured.
Antonio Rashad Green, 16, of the 1000 block of Woodson Road in Baltimore, was charged as an adult with 11 counts including attempted second-degree murder, assault of a law enforcement officer, vehicle theft and fourth-degree burglary.
The officer stopped a 2003 white Dodge Caravan traveling without headlights on Bristol Road near Stoneleigh Road at 1:27 a.m. Saturday. Police said the vehicle was driven by Green, according to a county police statement.
After stopping, Green reversed and rammed the vehicle into the front of the police car with the officer still inside, according to police.
Green then allegedly sped off toward Stoneleigh Road with the officer in pursuit. Police confirmed during the chase that the Caravan was stolen from Baltimore City.
Green pulled the minivan into a driveway in the 6700 block of Maxalea Road, and rammed the back of the police car again, according to the statement. The officer left the vehicle and attempted to place Green under arrest. Police said Green then attempted to run over the officer, who then fired multiple shots at the driver.
Police said the officer dived out of the way to avoid being struck by the minivan.
Green drove off on Maxalea Road before crashing into a parked car in front of the 6700 block of Maxalea Road, according to the statement. Green fled, and was later caught when a county K-9 officer found the driver, who had allegedly broken into a shed in the backyard of a house in the 6900 block of Sherwood Road.
Green was arrested after a struggle. He was not injured by any of the gunfire from police, according to the statement from the department.
The officer who started the pursuit was treated at Greater Baltimore Medical Center for minor injuries, according to the statement. He was later released.
Green is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $500,000 bail.
