Hampden, considered one of North Baltimore's most thriving and growing neighborhoods, is the top community on Zillow's 10 Hottest Neighborhood List for 2013.
Remington was the only other North Baltimore community to make Zillow’s list.
The list is based on Zillow’s forecast projecting home values during the next 12 months, and was released earlier this week as part of its fourth quarter real estate market reports.
Homes in Hampden are expected to appreciate by 4.2 percent during the next year compared to home values that appreciate 3 percent annually on average, according to the report.
Remington made the list in the number nine position and its homes on average are expected to appreciate by 3.3 percent.
Hampden has been an increasingly popular neighborhood in the city for the past several years. Remington has been plagued by troubles in the recent past, but investment from Seawall Development, with a growing base of active residents, has made the neighborhood a more attractive community.
