Three people have been charged in an Aug. 30 incident in which a stun gun was used as a weapon in an attempt to steal a puppy belonging to an acquaintance, according to police.

At around 5:55 p.m., a 23-year-old woman who lives on the 3800 block of McDowell Lane was outside with her puppy when she was approached by a man and two women who attempted to take her pet, police said.

One of the suspects produced a stun gun, but the weapon was not used on the victim, according to police.

The suspects fled the scene when the victim resisted, but later returned and were arrested, police said.

Charged with armed robbery were Cameron Elliott Wells, 22, of Brookeville, Md.; Jessica Vanessa Jackson, 21, of the 600 block of Bridgeview Rd. in Cherry Hill; and India Andria Hazelwood, 23, of the 3800 block of McDowell Lane.
