Your comments on our stories.

This week, Patch readers took to the comment streams to defend police captains in trouble, discuss the future of a historic property and talk about dog bits.

Here’s what your neighbors are saying:

Hunt Valley-Cockeysville:

"The whole point is to NOT FLUSH THEM down the toilet. We have a big issue where our sewage treatment plants cannot take the medications out of the sludge, and then it goes on into the bay and our water table, and wreaks havoc on fish. Just do a web search on anti-depressants and fish."– Tony Gostomski via Facebook on Cockeysville Precinct Serves as Drop Off for DEA Program

Catonsville:

"I believe that Catonsville has a moral responsibility to preserve the history of the people who lived at Spring Grove. It would be like tearing down a concentration camp in Poland and putting a Walmart on its location. The story needs to be told and preserved so that we don't repeat the same mistake again."– Amy Kelly on TELL US: What Should Be Developed at Spring Grove?

Owings Mills-Reisterstown:

"Capt. Matt has done a great job as Captain, and it is unfortunate that he made an error in judgment that night. He is a kind, compassionate man who loves this town and was always willing to work with the community to make it better. Before anyone rushes to judgment, we are all human and capable of making major mistakes in our lives. It's what we do after that counts. Let's look at the entirety of a person's character, and not just the wrongdoing."– Norma Bosley on Franklin Precinct Captain Reassigned Following DUI Citation

Lutherville-Timonium:

"He was a very nice man. Was my principal during my whole time at Dulaney. I just saw him a few months ago at Towne Tavern. Prayers to his family."– Stacey Mann Lee via Facebook on Maynard E. Keadle, Former Dulaney High Principal

North Baltimore:

"Again, blanket legislation meant to address a problem, but taking collateral damage with it. The problem is not the liquor stores in the middle of the block, the problem is the jobless drunks flocking to the stores. You could put the liquors stores in the middle of a junkyard and the drunks will find their way there. Did this ill-fated study take into account that most of the patrons flocking to the liquor stores in the middle of the block are residents of the same block. The stores locate there only because the drunks are there first. Look at Baltimore City, it’s pretty much a dump no matter how you slice and dice it. No culture control will fix it. Just let the poor slobs run amuck if they’re happy living in the dump they created."– bystander on Proposal To Move Liquor Stores Goes Before Commission

Perry Hall:

"Why does there have to be more? I don't understand the judgment here really. Does the child have a history of eloping? Have a disability? It was 10:30 at night, the grandparent had reasonable cause to believe the child was sleeping soundly and retiring for the night was safe. I, for one, am glad to read the child is safe and the story serves as a reminder that no matter how diligent we strive to be, parenting is unpredictable. I'm sure the grandmother and other family members are beyond relieved that this little one is OK and kudos for an aware and caring community for helping a little one return home safely."— NottinghamFamily on Perry Hall Residents, Police Return Wandering Child Home

Dundalk Patch:

"Why are dog bites only reported in the media if the dog is a so-called 'pit bull?' Dogs bite all the time. It has nothing to do with breed. Why don't we see the media hype when a pomeranian kills a baby (true incident) or when a cocker spaniel bites off a toddlers thumb? Because the news feeds the overblown hysteria. Shame on all of you."— Tina Tenney on Child Victim Home After Eastwood Dog Attack

Towson Patch:

"Yes, Human Trafficking is in Towson. It is second only to Drug trafficking in the USA. And unfortunately very prevalent up the I-95 corridor. Ugly, horrific and makes me sick!"— Pat France on Towson Woman Charged with Human Trafficking, Prostitution
