April 1 is my dad's favorite holiday.
Yes, it is a holiday to him.
How else would you describe a day where you can put a loved one on edge simply because they know you like to pull pranks.
April Fools Day is the day we've set aside to both celebrate and avoid our resident pranksters.
Here are a few of the best pranks my dad has managed to pull off over the years:
- Egg in a shoe. Perfect use for those Easter eggs you just finished hiding for the kids yesterday.
- Load up your kid's backpack or your spouse's work bag with heavy rocks. Granted, it's spring break for most schools in Maryland, but you can find a way to pull off this weighted prank.
- Turn on everything in the car. What better way to make one feel "gotten" than to turn on the air conditioning, the emergency flashers, the radio on full blast and the windshield wipers.
Of course, there are plenty of pranks you can view online. Huffington Post rounded up some of the best pranks of the year. I'll add Google's "treasure map overlay" on its Google Maps function as one of my personal favorites of this holiday—check the photo with this post for a localized preview.
I'm curious about your favorite April Fool's Day jokes and tricks. Now, I'm not condoning anyone doing anything silly to celebrate the start of April. But I do want to hear about the funniest pranks you've experienced.
